Members of the Detailing Success Network and the Detail Mafia are extremely active in educational and certification events, community projects, conferences, webinars, meetings, tradeshows, and special projects and events.
Unique projects such as Air Force One at the Seattle Museum of Flight and Gordon McCall’s Motorworks Revival during Monterey Car Week provide these elite detailers with the opportunity to work on the most prestigious cars, motorcycles, and aircraft in the world. These projects attract a lot of media attention, which provides valuable exposure for Detailing Success Alumni, members of The Detail Mafia and their businesses.
For more than 15 years, Renny Doyle and his growing team of elite detailers from around the world have been restoring, maintaining, and preserving the first presidential jet Air Force One known as SAM (Special Air Missions) 970. The plane, which is part of the collection at the Seattle Museum of Flight served Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon. It also entertained many international VIPs such as Nikita Khrushchev and Henry Kissinger.
In 2002, Renny received a call from a Bush administration official asking him to bring a team to Seattle’s Museum of flight to clean and restore the deteriorating paint and aluminum finish on the historical jet. In 2003, Renny and a small staff started the restoration project.
After a few years, Renny opened up the project to a team of experienced detailers who had been through his training. This highly specialized and selective team of detailers returns every year as caretakers of Air Force One. Over the years, the project has grown to include dozens of other iconic aircraft including the Concord and a WWII B-29 Superfortress known as “T-Square 54”
In August 2015, Bob Phillips, president of P&S Detail Products and a member of the Detail Mafia and Air Force One Detailing Team, arranged for Renny to bring a select team to Monterey where they were the exclusive detailers and detailing product providers at the Annual Gordon McCall Motorworks Revival event, and The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, both part of the prestigious Monterey Car Week. They have been invited back ever since by the famous collector himself, Gordon McCall.
McCall’s Motorworks Revival is known as the Official Kickoff Gala to Monterey Car Week, and welcomes over 3,500 of the most influential automotive collectors, car enthusiasts, celebrities, and automotive professionals in the world. Exclusively using P&S Detailing Products and their Renny Doyle Double Black product line, the team preps dozens of rare and exotic vehicles. The precision detailing and vehicles are showcased at the elegant party.
The team also preps the cars and motorcycles for The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, the crown jewel of Monterey Car Week. Since its inception, it has combined a lush setting with exceptional cuisine and the finest vintage sports and luxury cars seen during the week. The prestigious event’s worldwide reputation attracts the world’s most valuable cars that demand the most specialized care.
